[xubuntu-users] Why do I have two ssh-agent processes?

I am running xubuntu 20.04 on two systems and they both have two
ssh-agent processes running, e.g.:-

chris$ ps -ef | grep ssh-agent
chris       1223    1136  0 Sep16 ?        00:00:00 /usr/bin/ssh-agent /usr/bin/im-launch startxfce4
chris       1898    1133  0 Sep16 ?        00:00:00 /usr/bin/ssh-agent -D -a /run/user/1000/keyring/.ssh
chris$ ps -p 1136
    PID TTY          TIME CMD
   1136 ?        00:00:03 xfce4-session

Even stranger, one of the ssh processes sets SSH_AGENT_PID and the
other sets SSH_AUTH_SOCK:-

chris$ env | grep SSH
SSH_AUTH_SOCK=/run/user/1000/keyring/ssh
SSH_AGENT_PID=1223

So, how do I get rid of one of them (assuming having two is wrong)?
Both appear to be started by xfce4-session.
