I'm under way to get a used AM3+-machine, so I can make a testinstall
within the next few 2 days.

Only if this test is successful, I want to convert the current machine
with a VM. In addition, I have to make a complete backup of the current
machine, as you wrote.

You know, caution is the mother of porcelain box ... old but true.
