Hi Roger,
I see your dilemma.
You could try "reportbug" instead. It's from Debian and at the end tries to
send an e-mail with the collected infos
to the Debian BTS (AFAICR =as far as I can remember. Last I used it was
like 10 years ago)
You don't need to send any mail.
But it collects dmesg, lsmod and other related stuff depending on the
package you have probs with.
reportbug (for me on Ubuntu 16.04.x) isn't installed by default. And you
have to tell it you wanna file a bug to the Debian BTS.
