Giovani,
Avoid running as root. File permissions will be divided between root and
you, especially if you link your dropbox account to other computers or
devices.
To fix the permissions problem:
> Dropbox permissions fix (when running dropbox via sudo)
>
> sudo dropbox stop
> sudo chown -R USER:GROUP /home/USER/Dropbox
> EX: sudo chown -R victor:victor /home/victor/Dropbox
> sudo chown -R USER:GROUP /home/USER/.dropbox
> sudo chown -R USER:GROUP /home/USER/.dbus
