[xubuntu-users] Is gtk engines necessary for Xfce/Xubuntu?

Yeah, there are always times when we get into a system that just doesn't
look right, and the problem is nobody clearly knows what's missing that is
causing it.

I once read somewhere that it might be because missing gtk2-engines-xfce
and gtk3-engines-xfce packages, and thus have been installing them
since Xubuntu 11.10, but was never sure if it helps at all.

But so many years passed by and those two package never made into Xubuntu.
This make me wonder if they are necessary at all.

Anyone knows?

Or, let me ask this way, anyone know where to look if things like Eric
described happens?
