Hi,

you likely have a reason not to use the package from the official Ubuntu
repository, http://packages.ubuntu.com/xenial/virtualbox, but perhaps
you get better support for the Oracle package, by the Oracle community.

The Oracle community as well as this community perhaps should know what
error message you get and even how you start the new VM could be from
interest.
