[xubuntu-users] Cannot Get LibreOffice Running

I have had to do a complete clean re-install of Xubuntu 15.04 for 
reasons I am too embarrassed to relate. I tried to install LibreOffice 
and when I start it I get the message "The application cannot be 
started. User installation could not be completed.". So clearly 
something went wrong with the installation.

Since I first got this I have tried to uninstall and reinstall using 
both Software Centre and Synaptic. Each time I get the same start up 
message so clearly some configuration or record has been retained.

Could someone please tell me the best way to totally purge the complete 
installation of all the applications in LibreOffice so that I can start 
with a fresh install?
