I have a question related to this discussion.
Ever since I installed Xubuntu 14.04.1, I have not been able to get audio
out of my Firefox browser when playing Flash content. I have Shockwave
Flash 11.2.202.418 installed and when activated, Flash video plays, but
there is no sound. This has persisted with the last few versions of
Firefox -- currently with version 33. Every other audio program (Chrome,
banshee, etc) provide proper audio output and audio sources other than
Flash play properly within Firefox. If I disable the Flash plugin, then I
can play videos at YouTube as they appear to recognize the absence of
Flash and fall back to HTML5. Of course, this is not helpful at those sites
that are Flash-only.
Does anyone have any idea what might be happening here? I have been trying
to locate others experiencing this problem, but so far, i seem to be the
only one. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
