[xubuntu-users] Libreoffice - spell check problems

I am using 14.04 and can't get the spell check to work, it just says
it's completed without doing anything,.  I have googled and asked on
irc.  I also found what should be a fix and still can't get anywhere.

Following that there is no indication of updates available for the
spellings.

huntspell is installed as well as libreoffice-l10n-en-gb so it should
just work,  I have told the settings to use UK spellings.
