[xubuntu-users] mousepad wiped out file content when font change tried

I do not like either of them. Both are way to simple to my taste. Gedit 
would be just fine but installing it in Xubuntu wants to install 
zeitgeist and related libs, which I definitely do not want.

Do you mind to explain to a Xubuntu newbie what is the "hidden file" 
you've mentioned?
