[xubuntu-users] problem with synaptic status column in xubuntu 14.04

hi, 

i am using xubuntu 14.04 final beta and facing a little problem with the status column in the synaptic. 


after selecting some files and pressing the apply button, the download starts. the status bar (boxed with green in the lower part of the image[http://imgur.com/B11ezyD]) is there initially but after sometime URI column broadens and removes the status column.

the only way to find the status column is to extend the download window. unfortunately, this is not a solution as the status column will disappear again after sometime. 


any help to solve this will be appreciated.
