[xubuntu-users] Missing Boot-Up Splash Screen

I'm using Voyager 13.04, a French distro -- straight Xubuntu with
additional software.
After the last update, the boot splash screen disappeared. It goes into
text mode. I don't care whether the I get the Voyager splash screen. I
actually prefer Xubuntu's. Are we using Plymouth? How do I reset the
splash?
One link claims the image is here:
/usr/lib/plymouth/themes/xubuntu-logo.png
But I don't have a plymouth folder. Does the latest Xubuntu do something
different?
