[xubuntu-users] Customising the DE

I thought it might be worth a thread on customising - i don't recall
any folk contributing and as there are so many options i thought we
could have a thread and help each other out.

Last week end i tried cairo-dock (i only learnt about it when looking
at another distro's LiveCD. I have used xubuntu with one panel in the
bottom as i have liked to be on the minimal side. With cairo-dock one
can replace both panels and one's DE is modernised. The only negative
is that if it's positioned on the bottom panel the menu will be
activated when the mouse passes over it. Best position i found was
vertical on the left hand side.
