Hi,

Sorry for the delay in reponding but anyway thanks for the answers.

About logging in - I opted at setup time to not require a login or  
password prompt so there isn't any choice of session or other options  
- the boot process appears to be going normally then I get the error  
about the input. Monitor is an Acer AL1916W, specs say 1440 x 900  
resolution. The video during installation is fine, only goes wonky at  
startup time. I have not yet tried the other suggestions but will  
soon. Thanks.
