[xubuntu-users] resize window

I'm running 64bit xubuntu 12.04 on my desktop.  Following method 2 in
  http://xubuntu.org/news/window-resizing-in-xubuntu-and-xfce/
I tried to resize windows with alt+right-click+drag, but that does not work. 
When I go to
   settings --> window manager --> keyboard
I can see an entry for "resize window", but right now there is no short-cut for
it and I don't see anyway to add a new short-cut.  Suggestions and comments
are most welcome!
