[xubuntu-users] disable ALL notifications

I set notifications to 1 sec and opacity to 0. The download
notifications are gone but I still get notifications about my connection
status and some other things that don't come to mind right now. It
appears in my upper right as a black box and does not dissappear. Also
if I mouse over the upper right I get one that incorrectly says I am
dissconnected and blocks out any other desktop info there.

I would like all notifications gone.  They clutter my desktops and IMO
are unnecessary. Just my opinion. How do I stop them?
