[xubuntu-users] Creater Launcher for Terminal defaults to root directory

Hi, using Xubuntu 11.04. When I right click the desktop and create a
launcher for the terminal (to get a terminal shortcut on the desktop) it
works but when I open the shortcut the starting dir is / (root). On the
other hand if I have a "quick launch" from the panel is does what I
expect and gives a term that defaults  to ~. How do I get the launcher
to
give ~ (my home) as the starting dir? It always used to do this. Thanks
