The Window Manager Tweaks application is xfwm4-tweaks-settings.

The command to turn off display compositing is: xfconf-query --channel=xfwm4
--property=/general/use_compositing --set=false
To turn it back on: xfconf-query --channel=xfwm4
--property=/general/use_compositing --set=true
