Thunar is good if you configure it to have some right-click options -
eg. 'Search for files' (using catfish)

What type of network drives do you need to connect to?
If Windows or Samba shares, then pyNeighbourhood is good.
I set it up so that it creates mount points like -
/home/david/SERVER
/home/david/SERVER/share
/home/david/SERVER/anothershare
