My experience is to get it working asap, and so I have used
ndiswrapper for most installs I have done. That being said, the
tutorials on the web on using them have been instructive, but
ineffective. The most effective means of installing ndiswrapper and
have it working quickly came from <i>Ubuntu Hacks.</i> If your local
library has a subscription to Safari, look for hacks 41 & 42. Or buy
the book.
