What does it look like? Does it cover the whole screen? Does it display
anything other than the document?
If you can only see the document, you might be in fullscreen- or
presentation-mode (press F11 to toggle the former, F5 to toggle the latter).
It might also be that the window has just enlarged a lot. You can drag it
(to make the window controls visible) by holding Alt, then clicking on the
window and dragging it.
If it's none of the above, perhaps you could make a screenshot and upload it
somewhere (e.g. imageshack.us) and send the link.
The application that displays PDFs is Evince, by the way.
