[xubuntu-users] Password failure with Cups

Hi,

for days I have been trying to install the printer for my laptop, which 
was running on Windows 98 before, all goes well up to the point when 
Cups demands the password, when i give my username and the password 
which I normally use to start Xubuntu it is rejected and I do not get 
any further. I am completely new to Linux, can anybody help me and tell 
me what on earth exactly I have to do?
