[xubuntu-users] Skype and Tomboy system tray icons do not display correctly

Anyone else have trouble with the Skype and Tomboy icons in the
system tray?  In my system neither of these displays correctly. They
are there and can be clicked on (sort of) but are not visible.  Any
fix for this condition?  It was happening with 6.06 and now with 6.10
and with XFCE 4.4 beta and now with the stable release of 4.4.  So
far Googling hasn't turned up any references to this behaviour. 

Xubuntu Edgy 6.10
ThinkPad T23, Skype 1.3, Tomboy Ubuntu version 0.4.1
