[xubuntu-users] XFCE config problems

When I  logout from XFCE The words "save session for future logins" appear, 
but the box to tick does not.

Other users logins on the same machine are OK.

The XFCE setting manager also shows incorrect text, by adding the 
words "Button Label|" in the text for some (not all) items - e.g.  "Button 
Label | Window Manager"

I tried deleting the .cache and .config directories, and it still happens.

What should I try next?
