[xubuntu-users] Thunar file-saving default behaviors

When saving a recently downloaded file in Thunar (or in Nautilus, for that
matter), it defaults to only showing me a couple of different directories -
my home folder, the desktop, and maybe one or two other locations.

You can click a button to allow yourself to choose a different folder ( . .
.  as long as you have the right permissions, you can save to any folder on
your drive), but you have to click a button to find those folders.  Is it
possible to have the more detailed selector be the default instead of having
to click a button to use it?  I would like to have all of the
folder-location options available to me from the start when I go to save a
