Hello,
I have XUbuntu 7.04 installed on my IBM ThinkPad 600x.

I have some power management questions, but before I get to it I must
say that I have a Atheros HAL restricted driver running.

Here are the questions:
1. When I select shutdown the system ends up in the splash screen and
I have to pres the power down button on my laptop. Why doesn't the
system turn off the laptop? Windows XP was able to do it on the very
same laptop.

2. Same with hibernate. It goes through its procedures and the last
thing it says is "power down". Not sure if it's a message for me to do
it or it is trying to do it. It never powers down the hardware.

3. With laptops I'm used to shut the screen closed and the laptop
hibernate and power down. How can this be set in XUbuntu?

As you can see I'm a former Windowsee so I'll appreciate any help.

Thanks.
