We have a patch applied to Thunar in one of the team ppa's, which
appears to fix the copy/move/refresh issues people are seeing, that is
those mentioned on the recent release note for 16.04.

We need to get as many people as possible to test this before we move
forward with fixing these bugs. Both people using 16.04 and those few
who've access to 16.10 can test this. If you wish to you can also test
with a virtual machine of your choice.

So to test with the patched thunar:

Install ppa-purge (you'll need to use a terminal with apt)

Add the ppa

  * sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xubuntu-dev/xubuntu-staging

Now update and install Thunar

  * sudo apt-get update
  * sudo apt-get install thunar

You should see notification that thunar related packages will be
installed/or upgraded to the new version

Check you have the correct version

  * dpkg -l thunar

You should see either 1.6.10-2ubuntu1.0~16.04 or 1.6.10-2ubuntu1.0~16.10
(dependent on whether you are using 16.04 or are using 16.10)

Now please run both of these testcases from the package tracker

  * http://packages.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/361/builds/117794/testcases/1681/results
  * http://packages.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/361/builds/117794/testcases/1682/results

This IS likely to take some time to complete - I took ~20 minutes per
testcase.

You can use the Comment area to tell us anything else you might have
seen related to the tests and bugs - but please note the output of the
dpkg -l command from above in Comments.

Once you have completed the testcases, you can revert to the previous
package by removing the ppa (leaving the ppa will cause you to receive
package updates from there - we use it to test packages).

  * sudo ppa-purge ppa:xubuntu-dev/xubuntu-staging

regards

Kev
