xfce4-indicator-plugin displaying "wrong" indicators and crashing

Hello everyone,

I am currently playing around with the Xubuntu Trusty Beta to prepare
for a deployment later this year.

The xfce4-indicator-plugin seems to display every indicator which is
installed on the system. I don't know if this behaviour is intended or
not. As an example the indicator-session does not seem to work
correctly in XFCE, at least the logout does not work for me.

The indicator-datetime is displayed even though XFCE provides it's own
clock widget. This leads to two clock widgets being visible.

This above behaviour is also present on the Live CD daily build.

Even worse when indicator-appmenu is installed, the application menus
of several applications are displayed in the panel, completely breaking
the "Xubuntu style" panel. Of course I can manually hide this
indicator, but then the menu becomes invisible and is not moved back to
the application window. The only option at hand would be to remove the
appmenu indicator, which is not desirable either as we plan to have
Unity installed in parallel.

I also noticed several crashes of the plugin with the following error
message:

(wrapper-2.0:16415): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_realize: assertion
'widget->priv->anchored || GTK_IS_INVISIBLE (widget)' failed

I would be happy to receive any advice how to solve this problems. If
you need additional information/logs/... , I will kindly provide it.

Thanks in advance!
Fabian
