Welcome shawn.
You seem to have quite an impressive amount of coding knowledge.
https://launchpad.net/xubuntu-docs is where the docs are put, feel
free to translate if you're in one of the countries translatable too.
I noticed you used ubuntu on PowerPC hardware, if you still have any,
lubuntu need testers.
The phone developers want anyone with knowledge of Qt or javascript,
so you could also help there.

Instead of re-installing every 3 months, may i suggest you use
testdrive launchpad.net/testdrive , It's made by the ubuntu community
and is very useful for trying multiple distros
