Some days ago I made a first draft for the forthcoming Xubuntu Karmic
(GDM) artwork. Now we're through a few iterations, and at the moment the
artwork looks like this:
http://emonk.fi/open/xubuntu/9.10/Mockups/06.png. The high resolution
(1920x1440) version can be found at
http://emonk.fi/open/xubuntu/9.10/Mockups/06-hires.png.
Again, the artwork is SVG apart from a "clouds" layer, which adds a bit
more texture to the artwork. When we are getting closer to the release
(and also, when Cody is back answering my questions about BZR ;)), this
will also be pushed into xubuntu-artwork source package.
If you feel there is something that needs more attention please let me
know as well as if you think there is something completely wrong. There
is relatively much time before the release, so please do not hesitate to
ask even some big changes.
What comes about the wallpaper, I was thinking of just dropping the tree
and the birds and possibly adding more, smaller, birds in there. As with
Jaunty wallpaper, we don't want to catch the attention of the eye. If
you prefer the Xubuntu logo "watermarked" to the wallpaper, it is also a
possibility.
Should you feel like wanting to send a mail for whatever issue
concerning the artwork, send it to this developer discussion mailing
list, so others can follow.
Thanks for the praising comments. Keep the feedback coming.
