Have tested Zenwalk and I think we sould realy consider to join forces with the graphical stuff!

And then giving them up _in spite_ of their looks if they don't work. I
am not talking about specific distros here, just pointing out that the
"Shinyyyyyy!" feeling is not long lived if the system is not working.
I agree with all you suggest in your mail though: so decide on the
theme, icon set etc, anything that usually lives upstream and then
because of popularity gets packaged. But let's not start packaging theme
after theme which change every week, it's too much development burden.
This is what I have been saying in dapper and edgy as well:
let's have an artwork on which people agree and only then bless it as
official xubuntu artwork and upload it. But there never seems to be
consensus and we stick with what we have, at least we don't regress.
