coding tasks

There are a few GTK coding tasks that would be very helpful in moving forward with reducing duplication with Ubuntu
and getting rid of dependencies.
There should be a section in the GettingInvolved wiki page only for this, like GettingInvolved/Coding

So far Lionel, Giuseppe and myself seem interested and having time in taking care of some. If there are others please
speak up now. Knowledge of C or perl is mandatory, and some of GTK desirable. We'll then assign the tasks then and have
at least some form of transparency control over what is going to happen

All of these tasks are modifying existing apps not writing new ones, that is a different issue.
