I had a look tonight, with a few new problems, I'm not sure it's
revelent to xubuntu-dev, I report in case it is. Please ask for any
further information.


 * HPLIP does not start, maybe a missing PyQt dependancy. Found this
in .xsession-errors:

[31;01merror: PyQt not installed. GUI not available. Exiting.
[31;01merror: PyQt/Qt initialization error. Please check install of
PyQt/Qt and try again

 * (french) locale characters such as é did not print on console (on alt
+F1-6). "sudo dpkg-reconfigure console-setup" partially solved this:
these characters now appear white while the others are light gray. I
choosed all the default options in sudo dpkg-reconfigure console-setup.


 * xfterm4 makes X crash (my graphic card is a Intel 82815 CGC chipset).
The following errors (found in .xsession-errors) are probably related:

XIO:  fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server

      after 1147 requests (1147 known processed) with 0 events
remaining.

xfdesktop: Fatal IO error 11 (Ressource temporairement non disponible)
on X server :0.0.
xfce4-panel: Fatal IO error 104 (Connexion ré-initialisée par le
correspondant) on X server :0.0.
xfce4-menu-plugin: Fatal IO error 104 (Connexion ré-initialisée par le
correspondant) on X server :0.0.
Terminal: Fatal IO error 104 (Connexion ré-initialisée par le
correspondant) on X server :0.0.
thunar-tpa: Fatal IO error 11 (Ressource temporairement non disponible)
on X server :0.0.
exo-helper-0.3: Fatal IO error 2 (Aucun fichier ou répertoire de ce
type) on X server :0.0.
