usplash weirdness

I had a problem with the usplash before, and I had it again after another
reinstall: the image that shows the part that has already loaded in the
loading bar is not the nice blue one but something I think to point to a
broken image or something.

Also, I happen to like the new Clearlooks theme a little less, is there any
way to revert back to the old one?
