"Run in terminal" checkbox doesn't always work

In other XFCE4 installations I have done, including the Xubuntu Dapper install,
I was able to run PUMP (pump -i eth1)and other utility commands from added
panel entries by checking the "Run in terminal" option. It no longer seems to
work in 6.10 most of the time. Term commands to launch utilities do work when
launched from a term window which excludes banal terminal problems and points
to the launcher configs.
