Text Editor with highlight sintax

The opportunities are endless.
They are something like this:

1) Emacs
2) Vim
These two are classics, but can be quite difficult for a beginner.
3) Bluefish
Unfortunately, in Ubuntu, it's built with Gnome deps.
4) Scite
Your best bet for a powerful, yet simple GTK editor.
5) Jedit
Very nice, even if it's a Java editor, it's still small and fast
(it even has a Debian repository).
6) Jext
Another Java editor, quite nice.
7) Nedit
Nice, it's interface is kind of ugly, but otherwise, it's very good.
