More detailed graphics usually have larger file sizes and therefore load
slower.  Xubuntu is about performance I think, it's supposed to be slick to
use and not bloated.   Are these new graphics significantly larger in file
size?

IMHO it's good to have time to devoted to this and it's important,
but I think Xubuntu goals are slightly different from K/Ubuntu.

Things need to be both fast/small *and* good looking.  I.e. the work
is more demanding than for K/Ubuntu. :-)
