This is a bug in flash player itself that has existed pretty much since
file upload support was added to flash on linux, would all those
interested in seeing this resolved vote for it to be fixed on the adobe
bug tracker: https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-377  and if you feel
so inclined leave a comment too.

The problem has existed for ages and the Adobe bug ticket was raised
back in Mid 2008 but still adobe seem reluctant to give this the
priority it deserves.
