i installed unr 9.10 on a netbook that already had xp on it. i too
cannot boot into it. i also get a blinking curser and grub displays an
option for xp (which also works).

ubuntu showed up long enough to do the file system check and prompt me
to restart and i've been locked out of ubuntu ever since.
