I am experiencing the same problem. In Ganymede, I open the SVN commit
window, and the system crashed.
The deskop applets seem to be working, when I unplug the LAN cable, the
pop-up appears and dissappears. My mouse pointer is able to move, but
the system does not accept any keyboard input.
If I press the restart switch, I get the shutdown panel, but am unable
to click or type a key for one of the options. Alt F1-F5 don't work
either and CTRL-backspace does not shut down X.
To me, Gnome should not allow an application to take total control of
the system. Even if the dialog box fails, the user should be able to
access the rest of the Linux box as normal.
Eclipse 3.4.2 SR2.
Ubuntu 8.10.
No err_pid file was found.
