does this happen with ffplay as well? maybe the problem is not in the
decoder (libavcodec), but in the demuxer (libavformat). mplayer does not
use libavformat for all formats, but also includes some private
implementations..

in any case, please follow the ffmpeg guidelines to file bugs:
http://ffmpeg.org/bugreports.html. We definitly need an sample file for
reproducing the issue. You can attach it to this bug, but all we can do
is to forward it upstream, so you might want to do that yourself. This
way you can answer faster to questions upstream might have.
