Have the system updated with the following three packages solves the
issue:

1.    Install xserver-xorg-video-intel_2.4.1-1ubuntu10.5~test1_i386.deb
2.    Install linux-image-2.6.27-14-generic_2.6.27-14.33_i386.deb
3.    Install linux-restricted-modules-2.6.27-14-generic_26.27-14.19_i386.deb 

Seems the issue is solved, so this can be closed.
