Could you please check to see whether this bug still exists in a more
recent release of Ubuntu -- either Intrepid 8.10 or Jaunty 9.04?

I am unable to duplicate this in Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10 amd64.

There is also a much newer version of bibledit (3.7-1) now in Debian
unstable, so in Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic we will (hopefully!) have a new
release of bibledit also.
