to reproduce this bug  :

1- a fresh and clean install of ubuntu jaunty (I work with 64bits arch, don't know if it matters here)
2- sudo apt-get install kdenlive frei0r-plugins 

it is important to install both at the same time, if you install frei0r
after kdenlive first run, there is no bug.
