Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

I'm using Jaunty Release Candidate, and have been having this bug for a
LONG time. I initially thought it was a compositing issue, so I
commented on bug 178953. However, after running compiz-check and still
having no luck, I ran compiz from the Terminal and got errors which were
confirmed to be unrelated to the bug by a wiser user. Taking his advice,
I'm filing this bug report.

Terminal errors:
compiz
