I have also noticed a slowdown in text-editing. I did not change the
font style and still text highlighting is sometimes painfully slow and
the characters appear or disappear with quite a lag after the key
stroke. One more point I noticed is that the autocomplete function for
latex commands is _very_ slow. I use only a customized file for
completion which is not more than 200 commands long and since I switched
to v2.1 I am usually faster just typing the whole command than waiting
for autocomplete to come up with a suggestion.
