[Bug 361855] [NEW] Audacious only identifies files by extension.

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: audacious

Audacious only identifies the file type by its extension, which
significantly different to other multimedia applications making it a
counterintuitive behaviour and a bug.

To reproduce:
1. Remove an extension from a file.
2. Add it to Audacious playlist by drog-and-drop onto playlist or main window.

What happens:
File does not get added.

Expected behaviour:
File should be added and played.

Other issue:
If the file is named with an incorrect extension which is also supported by Audacious it will be added, but will not play.
