Public bug reported:

Adobe released a native 64-bit flash player in November. although
marked as an Alpha, it's performance is better than the nspluginwrapper
solution. It also has the added advantage of requiring fewer
dependencies. Flash is a big part of normal internet usage, and x86_64
users need the best solution possible. If not used as the primary
solution, it should at least be a visible alternative so users can
handle it through the package manager the same way x86 users do. I
would suggest this for Jaunty since the 64-bit release was after
Intrepid.

The plugin can be found here:

** Affects: flashplugin-nonfree (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
