Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: skanlite

I have a network scanner installed in a server. The ubuntu client machine is set up to search the server for scanners:

$ scanimage -L
device `net:kunami:epson:libusb:001:003' is a Epson CX3600 flatbed scanner

Current skanlite (version 0.2-kde4.1.2-0ubuntu1) doesn't seem to detect
this scanner, complaining at startup that there are no available
scanners. But if I start it with

$ skanlite -d net:kunami:epson:libusb:001:003

it works fine.

I also had a local v4l device set up as a sane scanner, which seemed to
be correctly detected. The device selection menu never showed up,
meaning that skanlite only detected this local scanner (I've removed
this v4l device from saned's v4l.conf file because I don't need it).

** Affects: skanlite (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
