Windows Rules

Agree on all points. I could also add that it has happened to me as a
buyer of computers in Zimbabwe that I find that the MS Windows or MS
Office quoted and paid for is actually pirated volume license
software... and then I am not a happy puppy at all I can tell you.

One of the problems promoting FOSS in southern/eastern Africa is that is
so damn easy to get the proprietary "for free". I was in an office in
Moz the other week where they were running latest MS Office 2007 that
"they had found and downloaded"... at cost of a bit of broadband time.

So in a way I hope MS all quirky online license certifications will
really start to be nasty.

As for MS Windows itself: it can not be ignored and it will not "go
away". W7 is likely (have not seen it yet myself outside web reviews) to
be way better than Vista and we will just have to live with that and try
to explain the real benefits of FOSS.

Sinclair, more excited over RC of Kubuntu 9.10 than release of W7
